Who?
Jan Libic at Du-Enter
Jan is a Slovakia-born photographer, web designer, web developer and video producer who currently lives in London (for some time).
Fueled by a passion for true and unique photography along with clean and transparent smart code, invisible design or design as a visual voice, cinematic effects that make him ask: “how it’s done” and also by endless cups of good coffee.
Beyond the lasting memory of the performance itself, he wants his images to remain long after the other things have faded. Jan prefers black & white photography because it evokes, more than any other medium, an emotion and freezes a moment in time.
It seems like everyone is throwing back to the 80s these days. I keep running into photographs that pop simplicity, geometry, atmosphere, beauty, feel and fundamental abstractness. Beyond the lasting memory of the performance itself I want my images to remain long after the other things have faded. Personally, I prefer black & white photography because it evokes, more than any other medium, an emotion and freezes a moment in time.
Having said that…
We all have to keep up with advanced gadgets and gizmos, so most of my work and equipment is therefore adapted accordingly to the objective reality.
I use Welatflex TLR* (A twin-lens reflex camera) camera for true 6×6 black and white photography.
* A twin-lens reflex camera (TLR) is a type of camera with two objective lenses of the same focal length. One of the lenses is the photographic objective, while the other is used for the waist-level viewfinder system. In addition to the objective, the viewfinder consists of a 45-degree reflex mirror. The two objectives are connected, so that the focus shown on the focusing screen will be exactly the same as on the film.
Canon camera with ranges of lenses from portrait lens 50mm, 18-200mm lens that magnify 1:1 (equal to what you’d see with your naked eye), wide lens 10-20mm for a stunning landscape photography to telephoto zoom lens 100-300mm.
